This folder contains material relating to the ordering of carbon buttons for Edison's telephones. The buttons were made at the Menlo Park laboratory and were supplied to the Western Electric Manufacturing Co. and to S. Bergmann, the firms that were manufacturing the telephones, and to the Gold and Stock Telegraph Co., which had control of the invention in the United States and Canada. Included are correspondence, account sheets, orders, and receipts. Because of their routine nature, none of the documents have been selected. Courtesy of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
