This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the organization and operation of Edison illuminating companies. Included are letters detailing the establishment of the Edison Electric Illuminating Co. of Orange, New Jersey. Other documents pertain to underground distribution systems in New York City. There is also a letter from William J. Hammer to the directors of the Edison Electric Illuminating Co. of Boston, listing in detail his duties and accomplishments while manager of the company and protesting his removal from that position.
