This folder contains correspondence, reports, and other documents relating to the business of the Edison Lamp Co. Most of the correspondence is by Francis R. Upton, general manager and treasurer. Some of the letters pertain to Edison's laboratory at the lamp factory. Other documents deal with lamp defects and the possibility of manufacturing lamps in Canada. There is also some correspondence regarding a new method of securing carbon filaments to lead-in wires.
Approximately 70 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine correspondence regarding orders and shipments of lamps; laboratory payroll receipts; meeting announcements. Courtesy of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
