This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the electric light business in foreign countries. There are several letters by Sherburne B. Eaton, Edison's personal attorney and general counsel to the Edison Electric Light Co., pertaining to the assignment of Edison's electric light and electric railway patents to the Edison & Swan United Electric Light Co., Ltd. Other letters by Eaton concern the status of Canadian and Spanish patents. Also included is a series of letters by Grosvenor P. Lowrey, attorney, and Samuel Flood Page, deputy chairman of the Edison & Swan company, regarding a shareholders' dispute with the company.
