These documents, which cover the years 1856-1924, comprise a variety of document types. Included are deeds, contracts, and other legal documents; correspondence; financial reports; drawings; and printed matter. In addition to material relating directly to Thomas Edison, there are several items (including a notebook) pertaining to his father, Samuel Edison, and numerous documents concerning various Edison business enterprises, from telegraphy to electric lighting to automobile parts.
