These two letters are from January 1890 and May 1916. The first letter, from the Robert Lee Traylor Papers , is one of several that Edison sent to state libraries during the 1890s regarding the availability of state and county maps. The second letter, from the Williams Family Papers, is by U.S. Comptroller of the Currency John Skelton Williams. It seeks Edison's opinion on recent technological progress.
