These documents consist primarily of letters from Mina Miller Edison (1865-1947) to her husband Thomas Edison, her parents Lewis and Mary Valinda Miller, and her sister Grace Miller Hitchcock. The dated items cover the years 1886-1919. There is also an undated letter, probably written in 1920 or 1921, in which Mina urges her husband to "let the boys run the business" and "forget a little bit that you are Charles['s] manager and be a father." Several letters refer to Edison's health and work schedule, while a few mention social engagements attended by the Edisons including a banquet honoring Guglielmo Marconi. Other letters discuss events and activities involving members of the Edison household, including holidays and vacations, and convey news of the Edison children. There are numerous items relating to the civic, social, educational, and religious activities of members of the Miller family. Also included is a letter to Mary Valinda Miller, written in February 1886 while Mina and Thomas were honeymooning in Florida. Courtesy of the Edison-Ford Winter Estates.
