Madeleine Edison and John Eyre Sloane Papers
This collection consists primarily of letters exchanged between Madeleine Edison and John Eyre Sloane. Madeleine and John met during the summer of 1909, became secretly engaged in 1910, and were formally engaged in December 1912. They married on June 17, 1914. Other correspondents include Mina and Charles Edison; Madeleine's children, Thomas Edison (Teddy) Sloane, John Edison (Jack) Sloane, and Peter Edison Sloane; her mother-in-law, Alice Eyre Sloane; and various friends and relatives of the Edison and Sloane families. Also included in the collection are a journal kept by Madeleine during the family's automobile tour of eastern Canada and New England in August 1906, a scrapbook and other documents relating to her two years at Bryn Mawr (1906-1908), and various essays and other writings.
Edison-Miller Family Papers
This collection consists primarily of letters addressed to Mina Miller Edison, along with some letters written by Mrs. Edison. Some letters are addressed jointly to Mina and Thomas Edison. The correspondents include Mina's parents, siblings, and in-laws; her children, Charles and Theodore; and her stepchildren from Edison's first marriage to Mary Stilwell Marion Estelle, Thomas Alva, Jr., and William Leslie.
