These three sets of documents relate to Madeleine Edison's impressions of Thomas Edison as a father and her feelings about growing up as the child of a famous inventor. There are comments about Edison's ancestry; his health, including his deafness and his stomach problems; his inventions; his working habits, his fondness for teasing; and various practical jokes that the children played on their father. Also included are remarks by Madeleine regarding various apocryphal stories about her father, along with comments about her interest in the Edison Birthplace Museum and a description of Ballintory, the Sloane's waterfront home in Talbot County, Maryland.
Another set of reminiscences, probably dating from the late 1940s, can be found in Charles Edison Fund Collection -- Edison, Madeleine. Courtesy of David E. E. Sloane. Images for this collection are not yet available.
