This folder contains correspondence, agreements, and other documents relating to the business of the Edison Electric Light Co. of Europe, Ltd. Much of the correspondence is by Sherburne B. Eaton, second vice president of the company. Included also is a sixteen page pamphlet, containing agreements between Edison and the company, and a twenty-seven page report by Joshua F. Bailey and Theodore Puskas, dated August 25, 1882. Related material can be found in D-82-38 (Electric Light -- Foreign -- Europe).
Approximately 70 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine company correspondence, such as letters relating to the shipment of goods; proxies and ballots from the stockholders' meeting of May 3, 1882 (Edison's own proxy and ballot have been selected).
