This pocket notebook covers the period July-September 1887. It was used by Jeff Waldron for daily notes regarding the construction of the West Orange laboratory. Most of the entries relate to problems with the contractors and with H. Hudson Holly, Edison's original supervisory architect for the laboratory. Several entries describe on-site inspections by Edison. Also included are lists of masons and other tradesmen, Waldron's expenses, and cement and brick suppliers. At the beginning of the book is a brief note by Harry F. Miller, dated 1924, describing the book's contents. The front cover is labeled "Note Book Jeff Waldron Aug 1887---." The pages are unnumbered. Approximately 60 pages have been used. Several pages have been removed from the book. Courtesy of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
