The Patent Series for 1899-1910 consists of: (1) one caveat (preliminary patent application) from 1907 relating to Edison's concrete house; (2) numerous case files for Edison's U.S. patent applications; and (3) a patent application book containing summaries of specifications by Edison and other laboratory employees for the period 1909-1912.
The Patents record group at the Edison National Historical Park includes an extensive set of case files relating to Edison's foreign patent applications. In addition, there are numerous patents by other inventors, many of which were subsequently assigned to Edison's companies. A finding aid is available. A related set of case files for Edison's U.S. patents can be found in the National Archives (Record Group 241, Records of the Patent Office). A complete set of the 1,093 U.S. patents issued to Edison can be found at http://edison.rutgers.edu/patents.htm. Courtesy of Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
